Re - elected executive member of the Ghana Mixed Martial Arts Federation (GHAMMAF), Alhaji Dauda Fuseni says they will perform as expected to put the sport high among the best disciplines.
Speaking at the second Elective Congress held at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday, he said the delegates had confidence and trust in them, that is why some of them were retained to continue with the good work started four years ago.
Alhaji Dauda who is also Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation said there are some boxers who switch to Mixed Martial Arts and they are ready to support them as well as other combat sports practitioners.
Alhaji Fuseni Dauda, President Collins Kofi Zoiku and Vice President Ali Ajami were re - elected unopposed at the free, fair and most peaceful Congress.
Boxing trainer Lawrence Carl Lokko of the Bronx Gym, Kendrick Aryee, Ibrahim Ahmed, Francis Dzorgboku and Treasurer Wonder Zoiku were added to the new executive of GHAMMAF. Patrick Johnson is the Secretary General of the Federation.
President Collins Zoiku said his aim is to create more opportunities for the fighters to be local and continental champions.
"Our target is the youth of Nima and Bukom, we can get more champions like we have in Boxing" he expressed.
Coach Carl Lokko promised to bring his experience to the Federation.

Mr. Collins Kofi Zoiku was on Saturday, August 12, 2023 re elected unopposed as President of the Ghana Mixed Martial Arts Federation (GHAMMAF) at their second Elective Congress held at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium.
In his victory speech after the election, he promised to take MMA in Ghana to a higher and better level with the support of the able men elected as executives and committees.
He called on all delegates and stakeholders in the sport to unite and bring ideas onboard to develop and promote Mixed Martial Arts.
He appealed to the government, Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to support the Federation to participate in the upcoming 13th African Games to be hosted in Ghana next year.
"It's all about the athletes, so let's try to encourage them to become National and African Champions" he expressed.
"Our aim is to make MMA the best sports of choice in Ghana" he added.
The Vice President position went to Mr. Ali Ajami, who was also unopposed, however for the Treasurer, Wonder Zoiku, a Chartered Accountant polled 26 votes to be elected against Alfred Kekeli who had 9 votes, while one ballot paper got spoilt.
Five executive members out of seven aspirants who were elected on the new board in the contest of the day were Kendrick Aryee, Dauda Fuseni, Carl Lokko, Ibrahim Ahmed and Francis Dzorgboku.
All the elected executives, in their acceptance speeches promised to work hard to take Ghana MMA to a higher level.
The peaceful election was conducted by experienced and versatile sports administrator, Mr. Patrick Johnson, Secretary General of the Federation who represented the Director General of the NSA, Professor Peter Twumasi.
He commended all the delegates who presented themselves well and assured to perform with the sky being the starting point.
Professor Kester Quist-Aphetsi, a distinguished global Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence expert who chaired the Congress advised the new board to open up to other organizations and federations for collaboration, and try to generate funds for the Federation, as well come up with innovative ideas to promote the sport.
He charged them to be fair and transparent in selection of athletes to represent the national team.
The Congress had refreshments from Twellium Industrial Company, producers of Verna Mineral Water and Rush Energy Drink.
In attendance were Mr. David Hevi and Mr. Thomas Akumeni who observed the free and fair event, as well as the media.

Tickets for the Boxing Fundraiser being organized by Wisdom Boxing Promotions and Making Learning Happen (MLH) at the Accra Sports Stadium on August 26, 2023 are out.
The main bout is between experienced slugger Suleiman Abubakar and youthful power puncher Haruna Mohammed, in a hot heavyweight contest with mouth watering undercards.

Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Afriyie Sabbi has completed a transfer to French club Le Havre from Danish side Odense BK during the ongoing transfer window.
The versatile attacker, who also holds American-Ghanaian dual nationality, has finalized a four-year contract with Le Havre, binding him to the club until June 2027.
As part of the agreed deal, Odense BK will receive a sum of €1 million in addition to potential bonuses, along with a percentage of any future transfer fees if Sabbi is transferred again.
Although born in Vicenza, Italy, Sabbi spent his formative years in Ohio, USA.
During his youth, he showcased his talents with several soccer clubs, including Blast FC, Ohio Premier Soccer, and Chicago Magic.
Notably, he played a pivotal role in Ohio Premier Soccer's victory in the US Youth Soccer National Championship. Sabbi's professional journey has also taken him to Las Palmas and Hobro IK.
Earlier this year, Sabbi achieved a significant milestone by making his senior debut for the United States Men's National Soccer Team in a friendly match against Colombia in January.
Prior to this achievement, he had already represented the USA in various age groups, including U18, U20, and U23 levels.

The Chief Executive Officer of Goldstar Consult, Sammy Anim Addo, believes the fixture between Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics will be a good curtain for the two teams ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Hearts and Olympics will face each other for the maiden edition of the Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Cup on Sunday, August 20, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The game will serve as part of celebrations for the Homowo festival and also serve as preparations for both teams ahead of the new season.
Speaking during the press launch of the event, Anim Addo, who is also the organiser of the game said: “As part of bringing back the love [for Ghana football], it is good that we bring out all the competitions that need to spice up the Ghana Premier League.”
“[Homowo Cup] is one of the major ones and the major one for Ghana football. Both Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics are big clubs, glorious clubs and if they have to play a, they normally play two games.
“If they have the opportunity to play another game before the league itself, it’s a good curtain-raiser for all of them and a good pre-season for them.”
The Ghana Football Association’s Executive Member also added that there is a plan for the fixture to become a yearly thing and awaits a decision from both clubs.
“The discussion that we have had is for it to be an annual one. That the two clubs will put it in their calendar so that all pre-season games will be fixed with this game in mind for both Hearts of Oak and Olympics,” he continued.
“Gradually, you don’t know. Maybe we may bring in other teams out of the jurisdiction — from the Ashanti Region, Northern, Brong Ahafo, Western or wherever.
“We may get to that level but for now, the focus is these two for them to give us all the entertainment we want.”

President of the Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA), Mr Charles OseiAsibey, will pay a working visit to Cameroon from August 15-18, 2023.
The visit is aimed at courting more support for the development and promotion ofthe sport of armwrestling in the country.
The President who also doubles as the Vice President of the World ArmwrestlingFederation is expected to have talks with the Sports Minister of Cameroon, theDirector of National Sports Council, the National Olympic Committee as well asthe Armwrestling Federation in the country.
His meeting with the Sports Minster is expected to center on Cameroon's bid tohost the 2025 Africa Armwrestling Championship and next year’s Africa Games todiscuss how best Cameroon could be represented in the Games.Armwrestling will make its maiden appearance at the 2023 Africa Games as acompetitive sport, this according to the AFA President is a step in the rightdirection in getting the sport played at Continental Games and the Olympics.
Mr Osei Asibey will also tour facilities in Cameroon to assess Cameroon’sreadiness to host Africa in 2025 when given the nod to host the championship.

The eighth edition of the KGL Millennium Marathon has been launched on Thursday, August 10 at the Base Lounge at Cantonment in Accra.
The program saw most of the sponsors of the event or their representatives in attendance.
Mr. Kalmoni of Japan Motors who performed the launch with a representative from KGL said the Marathon is about collaboration of great companies not competition to support a worthy event, and for healthy living, socializing and networking.
Norma Wilson, representing World Athletics in terms of measurements was thrilled to be in Ghana for the first time and hoped athletes who participate in the Millennium Marathon would be ranked by World Athletics.
He stressed that Africa is about to take off, and marathons open the world with diverse participants.
