Apenkwa Gbeeowomil Village Divisional Council Mantse Nii Adjetey Obour Buor II on Sunday sat in state as new sub chiefs, queen mothers and war leaders (Asafo) were out doored and welcomed at the special customary ceremony which was climaxed with a display of culture and royalty at Teshie in Accra.
The chiefs / leaders who were introduced by hierarchy include the chief's linguist Okyeame Kofi Dzan with the stool name Okyeame Nii Onsurogya II swore an oath of allegiance and pledge to the stool Gyasetse and the Mantse.
The Gyasenye.Naa Kordey Gbomo Sane was also introduced together with Nana Tambia Oforiwaa Queen mother and others including Naa Adjele, Naa Obuor Hestelor1, Naa Adjele Shikanye 1 and Hadjia Fati
Nana Nkektia Taky aka Nii Benkumhene, Nana Frimpong Oblahiia Mantse Nana Okufuobua, Nii Sasraku aka Yusif Allotey and Justice Archer Nii Oblempong Okujeama II Noyaa Mantse were among the new chiefs out doored.
After the war leaders Asafo were introduced , Nii Adjetey Sowah Kakla offered thanksgiving and prayed for blessings and peace in Apenkwa and surrounding areas like Ashiyie, Fafraha, Adenta, Ashaley Botwe, Amanfrom, Amrahian and Katamanso.
A Press Conference was later held where Akwaashontse, Nii Blaase 1 prepared way for the the king and queen mother to appeal to the government to help them retrieve stolen lands in their jurisdiction.
The Queen appealed to government to save their lands at Apenkwa which people are encroaching and trespassing with the support of land guards.
Nii Adjetey Obuor Buor II appealed to President John Mahama to save their lands and settle cases out of court, adding that previous governments have=failed to protect the real land owners. He also suggested that jobs must be created for the youth of Apenkwa to be responsible and contribute to the development of the nation.
