Exceptional performance is valued at Priority Insurance Company Limited. This is why the Insurance Company on 22nd of August 2023 rolled out the drums to celebrate 11 best performing agents and other agents who were awarded consolation prices under its Agents Awards programme. The Agents Awards decoration ceremonies took place simultaneously at the Priority House, Head Office of Priority Insurance Company Limited.
The Award programme is designed to motivate and encourage individual agents to go the extra mile in their job functions as they pursue the Insurance Company’s set goals and corporate objectives. Mr. Matthew Kweku Atta Aidoo, the Managing Director, Priority Insurance Company Limited described the 11 high performers and the other winners as agents of shifts and change that created extraordinary value for the organization by consistently exceeding expectations.
He congratulated the Agents and urged them to continue to push the brand with pride even as they enjoy the associated privileges which includes, accelerated career development and training by the Marketing Team, unrestricted access to company events, cash rewards, leadership exchange programs, cross regions supervisions as well as the much-coveted commissions they get as recognized agents by both Priority Insurance Company and National Insurance Commission.
“We are honoring today’s Agents for their exceptional performance and in appreciation of what they have contributed to the growth of the Company. Out of the over 11 agents here and being celebrated, 9 are repeat Winners since last two years meaning that they were able to retain their High Performing status awarded in previous years,” Mr. Salifu Abubakar Godmar, General Manager, Marketing and Business Development added.
The General Manager, Operations, Mr. Felix Akyea- Bekoe and General Manager, Finance, Mrs. Wendy Klome present, equally urged all agents present to aspire to increase the commissions and do more business to earn more. They also asked the agents to thread carefully and follow all regulations by both the company and that of National Insurance Commission.
Mr. Emmanuel Ampong , Branch Manager at Madina and Mrs. Docas Badu, Branch Manager at Spintex all expressed happiness with the Agents saying that their drive and passion that the awardees have shown in their commitment to excellence in their roles, is what has made Priority Insurance Company Limited a Role Model in the Insurance sector; while the HR and PA to the Managing Director, Miss Eunice Dede Ofei, through her vote of thanks advised the agents and agencies not to relent, but to strive for greater heights.
Acknowledging that each individual is unique, Priority Insurance Company added a personal touch to its recognition program. Alongside the traditional cash rewards, Priority Insurance presented personalized citations of appreciation to each agent present. Bernice Akosua Nyarko, was chosen in the special award category of “DVLA Best Agent Nationwide,” Mrs. Esther Ntorinkansah Badu as “Best Agent Non-Motor Nation-wide” and Joel Oppong-Antwi from Kumasi as “Second Best Nation-wide” and were described by the General Manager, Marketing and Business Development, Mr. Salifu Abubakar Godmar as “relentless agents who breaks difficult barriers, extends the insurance horizon and inspires others in their territory to do more.”
The star award went to Mrs. Esther Ntorinkansah Badu again, an agent at the Weija branch, who won Ghs 39,226 cash. The Overall Best Agent (National) who won it 2022 and now 2023, Esther Ntorinkansa, speaking to Atinka TV also expressed her profound gratitude to Priority Insurance Company Limited for honoring her again. However, she mentioned that her colleagues should try to be more than her and that she will be glad to see others win next year.
The Managing Director, Mr. Matthew Kweku Aidoo, who went on to congratulate the outstanding agents personally, said they exemplified people who were committed to the hallmarks of excellence in the execution of their duties.
Meanwhile, Ernest Kwaku Danquah, Head of Retail and Agency, congratulated the awardees for their hard work and consistency. He also assured clients of the continuous provision of Customer Service Values, which has always been the driving tool for the growth of Priority Insurance Company Limited.

After an impressive organization of the Memory Lane PGA 2023 Tournament at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi in the month of June, the leadership of the PGA, Ghana are set to host the third flagship competition dubbed the West Coast PGA and its scheduled to take place at the nation’s premier golf course in Achimota. The professional golf championship is in line with the Road to Damang qualifiers with the aim of insuring twenty-four golfers to take part in PGA Damang open 2023 in the Western region. The West Coast championship will commence from Monday 4th September with an opening ceremony and in attendance will be the president of PGA Ghana, Mark Coffie on Monday 4th September 2023.
The championship will be played in accordance with the rules of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club, St Andrews, and the local rules of Achimota Golf Club.
Toot Hill Golf Course in the United Kingdom is where Alhaji Ahmed Padori, the Director of Operations for PGA Ghana expressed his excitement about the forthcoming event, emphasizing the intensive preparations underway to ensure a successful tournament. He expects all the top players such as Vincent Torgah, Kojo Barni, Lucky Ayisah, E.K. Osei, Maxwell Owusu and the leader on the ranking table Augustine Manasseh etc to part take in the tournament.
According to him PGA Ghana is also much blessed to have the support of Achimota Golf club who have taken the mantle to organize a pro-am tournament on Friday 8th September to climax the event. He expressed his outfit’s gratitude to the captain of Achimota Golf club Mr. Grueter and his able executives for their support and cooperation. He also emphasized the awesome support from Goldfields speared headed by able Hans De-Beer, Roger Adam and all those who have contributed and still contributing towards the growth of the Association.

Ghana’s duo of Joseph Amoah and James Dadzie, failed to progress to the semi-finals of the Men’s 200m at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest on Wednesday.
Amoah, finished fifth in his heat with a time of 20.56s, to miss out on a place at the next stage.
The Commonwealth Bronze medalist, missed out on the top four with his time slower than that of Filippo Tortu of Italy (20.46s), Sinesipho Dambile of South Africa (20.34s) and Canada’s Andre De Grasse (20.28s), who finished fourth third, and second respectively
The race was won by USA’s Erriyon Knighton who clocked 20.17s to progress to the semi-finals on Thursday

Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu, Pesident of the Ghana Table Tennis Association and first Vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committe (GOC) has been elected Chairman of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Permanent Committee On Sustainability.
Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu will speak on *Workshop on Growing Revenues for National, Regional, and Continental Table Tennis Events*: at the International table tennis federation’s ongoing summit in Bangkok, Thailand 22-24th August, 2023.

The Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has commenced camping for its athletes ahead of the Africa Olympics Qualifying Bouts in Dakar, Senegal, from September 6 to 16.
The Secretary-General, NBF, Dapo Akinyele said that 14 boxers from seven weight categories are camped at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Akinyele revealed the federation had a mandate to ensure that Nigeria qualified for the Paris 2024 boxing events.
“We have a mandate to ensure that we are in the Olympics this time around after we missed out of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan.
“We have gathered our best athletes for this camp and we expect results from them, this time around we must put all machinery in place to ensure qualification.
“Nigeria is not lacking in terms of talents, we have them in abundance; not forgetting that we have history in boxing with medals in boxing events at the Olympics.
“We will do all it takes to ensure that we succeed this time, but first thing is that we want to qualify for the Olympics first,” he said.
The National Coach of NBF, Anthony Konyegwechie, also said that the boxers were in high spirits ahead of the Olympic qualifiers.
“We are training well ahead of the qualifiers and the boxers are all responding well. The spirit in the team is high.
“We do have morning and evening sessions. The morning session starts from 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m., while the evening session starts from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
“We have two camps one here in Nigeria and another one in the U.K., which has two weight categories for Male, 92 kg and Female, 75 kg.
“The weight categories in Nigeria are female, 50 kg, 57 kg, and 60 kg, while the male has 57 kg, 63.5 kg, 71 kg, and 80 kg,” he said.
Konyegwechie restated the need to support the athletes, adding that adequate support for the team would enhance their performances.
“We need more support for the boxers, they need to be well motivated ahead of the qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal. We need some modern equipment for training.
“Nothing should derail our ambition of attending the Paris 2024 because we have no excuse based on our pedigree in Africa, especially with the recent bout in Yaounde, Cameroon where Nigeria came 7th.
“At the Africa Boxing Championship in Cameroon, we are able to secure one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals with short preparations; now, we have to perform better,” he said.
The boxers are having their training inside the Gymn hall of the National Stadium Surulere Lagos.

The event was held at the University of Ghana. Legon Pool where she alone grabbed seven gold medals for her country.

She led the Ghana team to be awarded as Best Team* (Female) 1st - Ghana - 7g / 3s, 2nd - Benin - 4g and 3rd - Nigeria - 3g / 1b

Zaira Forson was fully supported by her parents who flew from Spain, Europe to come and give her the morale and guidance to succeed.

President of the Ghana Swimming Association (GSA), Mrs. Delphina Quaye believes Ghana national team swimmers can perform better if they are exposed and compete frequently.
Congratulating Team Ghana at the recent 3rd African Aquatics Zone 2 Junior Swimming Championship held at the University of Ghana Legon, she said there is room for improvement, and appealed to corporate Ghana to sponsor their activities.
She commended parents who have time for their children who are swimmers.
She also hailed coaches who have instilled discipline in the team and teaching them the winning mentality.
She observed that the recent Coaching Course has been beneficial, while the trainers have been creative.
“Ghana Swimming is moving to the pedestal to become the next best and sought sport after football” she expressed.
Mrs. Delphina Quaye is the only female on the executive board of the Ghana Olympic Committee.

Daniel Wadieh “The African Storm”, 20 years Ghanaian who based in the Netherlands, Almere, has promised to star for Ghana at the 13th African Games to be hosted in Accra Ghana where Mixed Martial Arts MMA will be a demonstration sport.
Daniel is so desperate to perform that he even wants to captain the National team, known as the Black Warriors.

He hinted that the GHAMMAF will soon organise a Championship for locals fighters.
According to Mr. Zoiku there are guys in places like Nima and Bukom who are good in the sport, he urged them not to rest but start preparing for tournaments coming up.
