Black Challenge defeats Togo 9-1 in friendly Amputee Football international match

Ghana's Amputee Football team, the Black Challenge on Friday walloped their Togolese counterparts by nine goals to one at the Stade Omni Sports in Lome.

The match which was at the request and invitation of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Togo was part of preparations for both countries ahead of the first African Para Games to be hosted in Accra, Ghana in September this year.

The Black Challenge goals came from striker Mohammed Mubarak who had a great game with five goals, Yahya Yusuf got two goals, Allotey scored one goal while the hosts scored an own goal through Mouth Ben.

Coach Stephen Richard Obeng who led the victors said the match was a very good exercise because it made him observe some players well and saw the confidence level of the players who started and the substitutions did very well.

He expressed that the squad is very good and hoped that the government will support them to win the football event at the African Para Games.

Technical Director, Ali Jarra noted that disabled athletes and team always bring laurels to the nation, so they should be taken care of very well.

He stressed that disability is not inability, and hoped that corporate Ghana will motivate the team.

President of Ghana Amputee Football, Mr. Forster Kwarteng who was elated with the performance and high score-line promised to enhance the morale of the Black Challenge, and thanked the President of the African Paralympic Committee, Mr. Samson Deen for his efforts, especially in ensuring that Ghana organises a successful event in September.

Monsieur Astutse Klegbe, President of the Togolese Paralympic Committee commended and congratulated the Ghana team and hoped that one day they will also win.

Mr. Emmanuel Akpabli who was instrumental in ensuring a hospitable atmosphere for the game told Yours Truly the leaders of Para Sports in Ghana are really committed and ready to support the athletes to realize their aspirations in sports.

Mr. Samuel Obeng, a member of the executive also praised the team and advised them not to be relaxed until they win the 2023 Para Games

... The Return Of Gyatabi And Paul Dogboe At Lord’s Wembley

The Lord Commey Wembley Sports Complex  at Shukura will be full of fireworks on Friday and Saturday as crowd pulling boxers take the big stage for the weigh in and action fight night respectively.

The Silver Black Promotions first bill will witness the size up of the boxers after the media face off at the Gaskia Cinema at Sabon Zongo.

The main bout is the National Super Lightweight Championship between title holder Faisal 'Poncho Power' of the Charles Quartey Memorial Boxing Gym and Emmanuel Arday Aryee of the Ghana Prisons Service.

Abubakar has already warned his challenger who has also said he is the better boxer.

Former WBO Global Bantamweight Champion, Wasiru Mohammed aka Gyatabi who has been missing from the ring makes a return with Paul Dogboe in his corner.

The 10 bouts bill will feature fans favorite boxers like Gabriel Coffie and rising star, Africanus Neequaye of James Town Boxing Club.

Mr. Daniel Ablorh Sowah said there will be other exciting fighters on the bill, and expressed that Boxing fans are going to have more fan and surprises.

He commended the Ghana Boxing Authority for the support and encouragement leading to the promotion.

He said the rates are very moderate, and urged fans to come in their numbers to cheer their favorite boxers.

Togo and Ghana will play a friendly amputee football game at the State De Omnisports De Lome on Friday August 18 2023.

The match is to test the preparedness pf the teams ahead of the First African Para Games to be hosted in Accra Ghana from 3^rd to 12th September.

The Ghana National Paralympic Committee is arranging a bus for Ghanaian Sports Journalists who wish to cover the game.

The Ghana Amputee Football team known as ‘The Black Challenge' who are the African champions have very good players and the match is going to test the players who will be ready for the Para Games.

The eighth edition of the KGL Millennium Marathon is coming on live in Accra on Saturday, September 2, 2023 after the impressive launch last Thursday at the Base Lounge at Cantonment in Accra.

Some few investigations conducted by Yours Truly revealed that other athletes in various sports disciplines like boxing, table tennis, tennis, golf, hockey, volleyball, basketball, MMA fighters, judokas, karatekas, cyclists and skaters are joining in the big sports extravaganza which starts at the Ministries Police  Station and ends at the Independence Square.

President of the Ghana Skating Federation, Mr. Gameli Kportufe said his boys are coming to spice the event.

Treasurer of the Ghana Boxing Federation Mustapha Nettey expressed the marathon is for encouragement running, and wished all boxers will take it serious to build their stamina and strength in the legs.

The 2023 Millennium Marathon has 75,000ghc at stake and one can pay 100ghc for 21km or 70ghc for 5km to registration, after dialing *800*17#.

Registration is going on till August 31 at the Accra Sports Stadium, Frankies Hotel, Osu and GHOne office.

Neymar’s outrageous demands before the Saudi move: eight cars, 25 room house, five workers, a private plane, and others Brazil superstar Neymar made some luxurious demands from his new employer before he agreed to a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian star has sealed a move to Al-Hilal on a two-year deal which will see him earn a staggering £ 2.5 million a week.

Neymar wanted eight cars to be given to him for him and his entourage to use.

Neymar, 32, is arguably one of the biggest stars to make the move to Saudi Arabia this summer alongside Karim Benzema.

However, he has not made the move on the cheap with Al-Hilal forking out £78milion to PSG as well as handing Neymar a staggering deal.

SunSport understands that the former Barcelona star asked Al-Hilal's owners for three luxury cars for himself and for his entourage to have four Mercedes G Wagons and a Mercedes van with a driver.

Neymar also requested that the driver be available round the clock every day of the year for himself, friends, and family.

The luxury cars include a Bentley Continental GP, an Aston Martin DBX, and a Lamborghini Huracan, which would cost roughly £510,000 combined.

At home, Neymar called for his fridge to be filled all the time with Açaí juice by his favorite brand, but also Guarana drinks for his friends and family.

He also asked for three saunas to be in the house as well as five full-time workers, including a sous chef to help his personal chef from Brazil and for two people to take care of the cleaning.

A source has also told SunSport that Neymar asked for all the costs of his stays at hotels, restaurants, and cities that he may visit on days off to be covered by Al-Hilal's owners.

Accra Hearts of Oak and their arch-rivals, Accra Great Olympics, will come up at each other for the 2023 Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Cup on August 20, 2023.

The epic encounter between the two biggest clubs in the capital is planned the Accra Sports Stadium, under the patronage of the Gbese Manste, His Royal Majesty, Nii Dr. Ayi Bonte II.

The Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Cup has been sanctioned by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and it is going to be a platform to see players the two Premier Division clubs are going to use in the coming season.

Under the support of ITF/CAT, Ghana Tennis Federation is hosting the first edition of the Western (2) African Junior Teams’ Competition 12 & under from 15 to 19 August 2023 in the National Tennis Center - Accra Sport Stadium.

Five countries are taking part in this event, they are Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Togo and Burkina Faso.

The Competition will serve as a qualifying competition for the Final event of the AJTC 12&Under.
