At the legendary Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, the fight started slowly with both boxers being cautious in round one, but it caught fire early in round two when Allotey floored Tagoe with a left hook.

I have recently been informed about the press release issued by the Ghana Athletics Association on the 27th March 2025 and republished by various media outlets. The Ghana Athletics Association allege that I have engaged in misconduct which includes sexual abuse of athletes and minors. The Ghana Athletics Association has publicly announced that my membership with the organisation has been suspended due to the ongoing investigation into the allegations.

These allegations are untrue, baseless and damaging to my hitherto untarnished reputation.

I have not been contacted by Ghana Athletics Association about the allegations, neither was I given the opportunity to respond or defend myself against these allegations before they were made public. This complete disregard for fairness and due process is a violation of the fundamental principles of natural justice.

To be clear, I am not a member of and never have been a member of Ghana Athletics Association. I have not been given any information about details of the allegations.

I have dedicated my life to supporting athletes and contributing to the growth of the sports industry in the UK, USA, Ghana and Kenya. Through my work, I have built relationships with communities, schools and businesses. Everything I do is based on trust, integrity, and accountability. To be accused of such allegations, has caused grave damage, not just to me, but to my family, my friends, the athletes I work with and to my businesses.

My legal team have written to the Ghana Athletics Association to demand a withdrawal of the public statement and issue a public apology. However, staff at the Ghana Athletics Association were instructed to refuse to accept the letter. A letter was also sent via email, but to date no response has been received. This is unacceptable.

Ghana’s U-15 girls team, the Black Damsels, etched their names into the history books on Saturday, April 26, claiming the 2025 African Schools Football Championship title with a 2-0 victory over Uganda at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Belinda Kpentey and Daniella Abass were the heroes of the day, each scoring to cap off a stellar tournament run for the young Ghanaians.

The Black Damsels entered the final brimming with confidence after an unbeaten group stage campaign that included wins against Morocco, Benin, and Malawi. Their momentum continued into the semifinals, where they edged out defending champions South Africa in a thrilling encounter to reach the championship match.

Uganda also impressed on their way to the final, securing their spot after defeating Morocco in the semis.

The final almost started on a sour note for Ghana, as an early error by goalkeeper Precious nearly gifted Uganda an opening goal. However, the visitors failed to capitalise, and Ghana quickly seized control of the game. Daniella Abass and Hajara Adam came close to opening the scoring, but the teams went into halftime deadlocked.

After the break, Ghana’s determination shone through. Belinda Kpentey broke the stalemate following a brilliant solo effort by Christiana Ashiaku, who sprinted onto a loose ball, beat her defenders, and set up Kpentey for the finish.

Daniella Abass then sealed the victory, showcasing her composure with a clinical run and finish to double Ghana’s lead.

Uganda fought back, seeking a way into the game, but Ghana’s defence stood tall, ensuring a famous and emotional triumph — made even more remarkable as it was the Damsels’ debut appearance in the competition.

As champions, Ghana’s U-15 girls will be awarded a $300,000 cash prize, while the runners-up, Uganda, will receive $200,000. Third-place finishers in both the boys’ and girls’ categories will each take home $150,000.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s U-15 boys team also ended their campaign on a high, securing a 2-1 comeback victory over Uganda in the third-place playoff. Coached by Kwaku Danso, the boys showed great resilience, overcoming a halftime deficit to clinch the bronze medal at the same venue.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe met Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama at the Flagstaff House in Accra today, as part of his visit to Ghana for key football engagements.

Motsepe, who arrived earlier in the morning to a rousing welcome at Kotoka International Airport, was received by Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku and cheering football fans.

His visit underlines CAF’s renewed focus on youth empowerment through football development across Africa.

During their meeting, Motsepe and President Mahama discussed strategies to strengthen football structures in Ghana and across the continent. Central to their talks was how football can serve as a catalyst for social development, education, and youth employment opportunities.

Motsepe, a billionaire businessman from South Africa, emphasized CAF’s commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives like the African Schools Football Championship, whose final he will attend during his stay in Ghana.

The visit comes ahead of the CAF Executive Committee meeting to be chaired by Motsepe in Accra, where crucial leadership appointments are expected to be confirmed following last month’s elections.

Motsepe’s engagement with President Mahama also signals CAF’s broader ambition to work closely with African governments to harness the power of football as a tool for national development.

For Ghana, the meeting offers a significant opportunity to strengthen ties with CAF, particularly with GFA President Kurt Okraku expected to be elevated to one of CAF’s new Vice-President roles.

Motsepe’s visit reflects growing momentum around football’s role in Africa’s future, with stakeholders eager to see sport used to drive change beyond the pitch.

MTN Stands In Worship 2025 - A Gospel Showstopper That Rocked The Grand Arena With Spirit And Style

The Accra International Conference Centre was transformed into a sanctuary of sound, spirit, and sheer celebration on Sunday, April 20, 2025, as MTN Ghana rolled out the red carpet for its flagship gospel event—MTN Stands in Worship. And what a night it was. Thousands of worshippers, music lovers, and fans of pure talent packed the auditorium, hungry for a divine experience, and MTN delivered far more than expected.

From the moment the lights dimmed and the first notes rang through the hall, you could tell this wasn’t going to be just another gospel concert—it was a spiritual spectacle. The legendary Tagoe Sisters set the ball rolling with their smooth harmonies and commanding stage presence. Their voices, seasoned with decades of ministry, reminded the crowd why they remain the undisputed queens of Ghanaian gospel music. As their final note faded, the auditorium was already on its feet.

Then came Empress Gifty—bold, brilliant, and anointed. Her entrance alone sent a wave of excitement through the crowd. Dressed to slay and sing, she commanded the stage with grace and fire, delivering one high-energy number after another. With every song, she moved from raw power to pure praise, turning the venue into a dancing church with her electrifying stagecraft.

Not to be outdone, the ever-versatile Nacee brought the crowd to its knees—figuratively and spiritually. His powerful vocals, gripping lyrics, and effortless interaction with the crowd made for one of the night’s most moving segments. You could feel the pulse of the room shift as people swayed, sang along, and allowed themselves to be swept up in the worship.

But when Nacee and Empress Gifty teamed up for a jaw-dropping finale, it was fireworks on every level. The entire AICC vibrated with applause, shouts, and praise. That performance alone was enough to make you believe you were witnessing something historic—something heaven itself must have tuned in to.

MTN Viva Voices brought a rich, layered sound to the night, their professional harmonies giving each performance that extra bit of polish and power. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, gospel veteran Hannah Marfo stepped up with her timeless tunes. Her throwback hits sent waves of nostalgia and joy through the audience. Voices rang out across the auditorium as patrons young and old joined her in song, proving that her music still hits the soul as deeply today as it did years ago.

Adding to the spiritual richness of the night, worship leader Godfred Kwei Blankson, known to many as Nii Kwei, led a deeply personal worship session that quieted the crowd and opened hearts. The emotional weight of his delivery brought many to tears. In a night filled with energy and excitement, it was a sacred pause—a reminder that at the heart of all the music was an intimate moment with God.

And then came the icing on the cake—MTN’s much-loved surprise giveaways. In true MTN fashion, lucky audience members were gifted GH¢1,000 airtime packages, the latest Samsung and Apple smartphones, and other goodies that sent the crowd into wild cheers. Screams of joy echoed through the hall as names were called, turning worship into a full-blown celebration of blessings, both spiritual and physical.

Among the most spirited of attendees was Maame Serwaa, a trader who journeyed all the way from Amasaman just for the event. Drenched in sweat and joy from nonstop dancing, she was all smiles. “This is my second time at MTN Stands in Worship, and this one was even more powerful. I danced, I prayed, I cried, and I got blessed. MTN has done it again. I’m coming every year as long as I live,” she said, beaming.

By the time the final note was sung and the lights dimmed, one thing was clear: MTN Stands in Worship 2025 had left an indelible mark on every soul present. It wasn’t just a concert. It was a journey. A divine encounter. A glorious fusion of showbiz and spirit.
