Ghana's 4x100m quartet team placed a respectable fifth position in the final at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon.

With Sean Safo Antwi starting and handing the Baton to Ben Azamati then to Joseph Obeng Manu who did well for Skipper Joe Paul Amoah to finish, Ghana did quite well racing with the best of the best.

Canada took the gold, beating USA to collect silver and Great Britain took the bronze. Jamaica was fourth and Ghana fifth.

The Ghanaians broke the national record with a new time of 38.07 seconds, making them one of the favorites at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Canada who were winners in a time of 37.48 seconds will be at the Commonwealth Games and it is going to be interesting.

Ghana missed the $80,000 reward for first place and settled for $12,000 but the boys are content and hoping to make it better and bigger.

Ghana beat South Africa, Brazil and France in the hot race.

Yours Truly is once again calling on the government of Ghana and the Ghana Athletics Association to do more for the youth who love Track and Field.

We need to invest more in facilities and world class coaches. We have the talent, but talent needs to be polished and enhanced to be good, better and best.

As Ghana prepares to host the 2023 Africa Games, there is the need to encourage the youth and media especially to love and promote Athletics.
