Alan Kyerematen, a former Presidential hopeful from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a promise to spearhead significant investments in the construction of top-tier sports facilities across Ghana, should he be elected as President in the 2024 general elections.
In an announcement on Monday, September 25, Kyerematen revealed his decision to leave the NPP on Monday, expressing his intention to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming polls.
Unveiling his comprehensive 15-point Great Transformational Plan (GTP), Kyerematen emphasized his vision of "investing in world-class new generation sports facilities in selected competitive sporting disciplines."
He stated that his administration would “encourage the participation of the private sector in the development of sports infrastructure around the country.”
This initiative would encompass the establishment of sports academies.
The condition of Ghana's sporting infrastructure has emerged as a prominent topic of discussion in recent months, with many expressing dissatisfaction over the absence of high-standard facilities and the subpar maintenance of existing ones.

Coach Lokko said the Bronx Gym boxers have been inspired so training has changed from good to better, and every boxer is pulling his weight.

Association members of the GTTA have met in Kumasi at the BEK-EGG to appoint an interim management committee to run the affairs of the the association till in the November when elections will be held.
This came into light when the final second term of the Mawuko Afadzinu led admistration exceeded their term in May, 2023
It will be recall that the members of the GTTA sent a petition to get Mr Mawuko, the former chairman to render accounts from 2019 to date. Again the back door amendment made in the constitution was questioned.
In summary, the 2015 constitution was rended nor and void and the members agreed to use the 2010 constitution till a new one is drawn..

Six nations would be taking part in Afro Break International Competition at Dzorwulu in Accra, Ghana on November 15 to 27, 2023.
Ghana, host nation, South Africa, Nigeria, Togo, Benin and Tanzania are taking part in the 2023 edition of the Afro Break International Championship Belt and cash prize..
Tanzania was the first country to organize their event on July 23, 2023 to decide their representative, and it was was very interesting.
Ghana Qualifier was hosted on September 16, where B Boy Blesso and B Girl Tris won the competitive event.
Nigeria Qualifier took place on September 24, 2023. Other countries like South Africa, Togo and Benin will be announced.
As part of preparations, Blesso , Tris and Kofi Black were in Ivory Coast for the Ivory Breaking Championship involving
Ghana, Burkina Faso , Benin, Togo and Ivory Coast.
And the good news is Tris won her first major international competition.
It has motivated her to step up her performance.
Breaking is the new sport that involves dancing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The French Embassy in Ghana is supporting the Breaking Federation to make a representation.
The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) is also backing the young athletes to make it as the Olympic Games is a lifetime experience.

Out of the 32 personalities who were honoured by the Women In Sports Association (WISA), two were female boxers, Trudy Manteaw, an amateur of the Ghana Army and Leticia Naa Amanua Ankrah of the Akotoku Academy a professional boxer.
The two winners for Boxing who are based in Bukom were very grateful to the honour done them.
Leticia Ankrah, a bantamweight boxer who displayed resilience in her last bout at the Idrowhyte Events Center when she won against a Nigerian thanked the organisers of the Awards for monitoring her progress and promised to work hard to bring a world title to Ghana.
Trudy Manteaw said corporate Ghana must get involve seriously with sports investment and partnership as the talents are there in abundance but they need financial support and technical training to sharpen up.
She also thanked WISA and Ghandour Cosmetics for honouring the best female athletes in the country.
Other female boxers who have received the WISA Award in the past include Ornella Sathoud, Sarah Apew, Faruzia Osman and Ramatu Quaye.
President of WISA, Madam Gloria Commodore said she love boxing and other combat sports like Judo and Karate do.
She advised female athletes to take good care of themselves so that they can last in sports.

Ms. Rosemary Mroba Gaisie, a Director of the Women In Sports Association (WISA) has congratulated all the 32 winners at the 9th Awards ceremony which took place on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
She said the distinguished personalities which include disabled athletes needs to be encouraged.
According to Ms. Gaisie, the Awards ceremony which came just some few days after the first Para Games hosted in Ghana was another remarkable feat.
She prayed that all the athletes representing Ghana will shine in their upcoming competitions.
She said WISA Awards will be ten years next year and the celebration is going to be special and bigger.
She appealed to corporate Ghana to support the athletes who want to bring glory and honor to the motherland and thanked Ghandour Cosmetics for their support.
Ms. Gaisie is a former Sports Journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation who were also honoured on the day.
She is a member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and AIPS.

John Laryea who classifies himself as the ‘Expensive Boxer in Ghana’ climbs into the ring on October 7 against experienced Gabriel Odoi Laryea (21-6-4).
The bout will take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena, where a large crowd is expected to watch the bout.
According to John Laryea (11-0-1), he wants to make it loud and clear that his training and dedication to Boxing will be rewarded. He urged all his fans to storm the Bukom Boxing Arena to make it another party night.
The last time it was at Idrowhyte Events Center at Dansoman, and this time getting nearer to the fans.
With an unblemished record, he wants to keep his achievements growing and souring.
He mentioned his trainer, Coach Carl Lokko as a good trainer who has the know how to become a world champion and his management are working towards it.
Our investigation proved that Gabriel Odoi Laryea is one of the experienced boxers who want to go up to win the world title, so the boat will be between two boxers from Ghana who want to reach out to the world.
Its going to be very exciting because the two boxers would want to prove what they can do and will do.
Mr. Sammy Anim Addo, manager of John Laryea sees this particular fight as the one that will propel his ward to places and wants him to win clean by a knock out.
"We are much prepared and want to use the opportunity as another stepping stone to move up" he expressed.

Para athletes led by Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe who were honoured at the 9th Women In Sports Association WISA Achievers Awards have expressed their appreciation and love to Madam Gloria Commodore and her executives for the honour done to them.
Zinabu Issah - Para-Athlete / Wheelchair Tennis Player, Patricia Nyamekye - Para Powerlifting Athlete, Amdiatu Issaka - National Para-Athlete/Wheelchair Basketball Player, Stacey Konadu Mensah - Para-Athlete/Wheelchair Tennis Player, Bridget Nartey - Para-Athlete/Wheelchair Basketball And Tennis Player and Fatima Moro - Para-Athlete/Wheelchair Lawn Tennis And Wheelchair Basketball were given special awards on Saturday at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium.
All of them were charmingly well dressed, some in high heels with big earrings and fashionable dresses.
They said disability does not mean one must not dress to kill.
They thanked WISA, Ghandour and all those who think positive about them and appealed for more publicity and financial support to do the sports very well.

Bernice Borquaye of Ghana Navy and Augustina Baidoo of Ghana Army were among 32 female sports personalities who were recognized and honoured at the 2023 Women In Sports Association WISA Awards which came off on Saturday at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two stars are members of the female squad of the Black Loopers, the national team who won silver at the recent West African Championship.
They were also in Tunisia for the 2024 Olympic Qualifiers which was a very tough competition.
Bernice Borquaye said the award will motivate her to play better.
“This year has been one of my best, and I know I deserve to be rewarded. I appreciate and thank who made it happen” she noted.
Augustina Baidoo said she feels very proud, loved and hopes to do more for her country.
“I never expected such a high honour and am very happy, I thank the WISA executives and Mama G for this honour” she expressed.
