Black Stars winger, Joseph Paintsil found the back of the net to power LA Galaxy to an important 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls at the Dignity Health Sports Park to emerge champions of the 2024 MLS Cup - winning for a record sixth-time in their history.

The Galaticos pipped Seattle Sounders by 1-0 last week to win the 2024 MLS Western Conference in a very thrilling final - which set up the MLS Cup final against the Red Bulls who also conquered the Eastern Conference

The 26-year-old was handed starting berth and he was very impressive having operated very well on the flanks where he kept on moving inside-out, creating lots of spaces for their other forwards and also drove back couple of times to defend when necessary.

Paintsil opened the scoring account in just nine minutes from kickoff after calmly slotting in from a descent defense splitting pass from Gaston Brugman.

Serbian international Dejan Joveljic continued with his explosive form having doubled the lead four minutes later with Sean Nealis getting the consolation for the losing side.

Reacting to the victory, the mercurial winger took to social to express excitement and added this success was done as a result of the collective efforts of the entire squad.

“MLS Cup delivered. Great shift from everyone at this wonderful club. This is for you G’s✨, we did this together,” Joseph Paintsil said.

Joseph Paintsil has climaxed his debut season in the USA on a very higher note having scored 4 goals with an assist in five matches in the playoffs.

He netted 14 goals and provided 8 assists in 34 matches in the entire 2024 MLS season.
