The coach and three boxers who won three gold medals at the recent 2025 African Youth Championship have paid a special call on the CEO of Base Pharmacy Mr. Jonathan Nii Odartey Badoo,Also known as (Bra Joe ) at an impressive ceremony in Accra.
He welcomed The Black Rockets and the Ghana Boxing Federation represented by Vice President Alhaji Dauda Fuseni. 2nd Vice President Solomon Otoo, Treasurer Mustapha Nettey and head trainer Charles Quartey who officially presented the three gold medals and the trophy won at the recently African Youth Boxing Championship in Conakry, Guinea.”
The three boxers, Mathias Ashitey, Desmond Pappoe and Dowuona led by Coach Joseph Martey proved that they are from Accra Ghana and were hot and tough to handle.
The boys from Ga Mashie were strong, fast and over powered all opposition.
Mr. Badoo advised them not to feel swollen headed but train harder and obey instructions of the coaches as there are bigger battles ahead.
He cautioned the Black Rockets to be disciplined and promised to support them further after gifting them $1,000.
Alhaji Dauda Fuseni and Mustapha Nettey thanked and assured that the boxers are going to be taken good care off and be guided to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games and 2028 LA Games as well as World Championships.
Alhaji Fuseni appealed to the government and other agencies to support Amateur Boxing, because they have proved and continue to project Ghana.

Jingles is a Project Manager and currently the Administrator at Idrowhyt Company Limited, CEO for go2jingles Ltd. and Schoolmate Investments. He has worked over two decades as a youth coach on national programs raising many of the accomplished Ghanaian youth in the limelight today.
With a track record of 25 years in Television, Radio and Events Management he introduced and engineered events such as Ghana Televisin Awards, Ghana Youth Ambassador Contest (Mr & Miss SSS), Interschool Xmas Fiesta amongst others. Jingles as he is affectionately called has also served as PRO on most of the projects that he has managed.
He has worked extensively as the project manager for Cabic promotions and Managemenr from 2018 to date helping to nurture the Cabic Big Fight Night series year after year and being the project manager for the winning team for the 2019 SWAG Promoter of the Year as well as birthing CSR initiatives for the benefit of stakeholders in the boxing fraternity.
He is a dedicated person and results oriented and will stop at nothing to achieve the desired results. As he aspires to get elected as an Executive Member of the Ghana Boxing Authority Board, it is obvious that his track record and experience will come to play in the wind blowing for a new era in Ghana Boxing.

He is an astute marketing executive with a wealth of experience in sports administration. He has also worked in contruction industry. He has qualification in key international languages and has worked extensively in the advancement of sports outfits across Ghana.
He has worked with Cabic Promotions and management since 2018 as a marketing director in charge of sponsorship and brand management.
Mr Gordon is afable, a reliable person with good interpersonal skills and a team player who is able to work with all manner of people.

As a founding member of Cabic Promotions and Management, he had worked extensively in the United Kingdom and United States with big names such as Don King, Micky Duff, Frank Malony and Frank Warren.
In Ghana his exploits with Cabic Promotions has led to annexing African Titles and World Title Fights that could easily have fetch Ghana world Titles in the Welterweight and Heaviweight Divisions. The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) goes to an important Elective Congress on July 12 at the Mudor Conference Hall inside the Trust Sports Emporium (Bukom Boxing Arena).
The filing for nominations closed on June 2, 2025 with three personalities filing their nominations to contest for the President’s position.
One person each is going for First Vice President and Treasurer position, while two are going for the Second Vice President slot and seven people are contesting for the Executive Members position.
In a release issued by the Communications Department of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), the contestants are as follows:

Mr. Ivan Bruce-Cudjoe aka ‘IBC’ has on Monday afternoon presented his nomination papers to the secretariat of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) as he intends to become the next President.
He was accompanied by his friend and business partner, Ellis Quaye also a director of Cabic Promotions who is contesting for Second Vice President position; Gideon K. Oyiadzo aka ‘Jingles’ who is going for Executive Board Member just like Mr. Johnny Gordon.
They were welcomed to the Bukom Boxing Arena which houses the GBA Secretariat to an enthusiastic and passionate singing crowd of boxers and boxing fans.
Team IBC as they are known for this year’s elections presented their nominations file which was received by Acting Secretary of the GBA Ms. Mimi Brown who is also Deputy PRO.
The President of the GBA, Mr. Abraham Kotei Neequaye who was present informed that the delegates list was not ready as the Executive Board was at a meeting to discuss and prepare the list by the close of the day.
Though Mr. Ivan Bruce-Cudjoe was not happy with what the President of the GBA said concerning the delegates list, he showed concern and prayed that Mr. Neequaye will honour the promise.
Once in a long while, the GBA Executive Board constituted a full house as all the members were present to deliberate on the upcoming Congress / Elections.
The fans and supporters following Ivan Bruce Cudjoe chanted victory songs and were sure that he will win on July 12, 2025.
Mr. Jingles who was not happy with the issue of the delegates list suspected foul play and hoped that the list will not be subverted.
Meanwhile, reports reaching Yours Truly indicate that only three people have collected nomination forms to contest for the President’s position.
The positions to be contested are President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Treasurer and Executive Members.

The much anticipated WBC International Bantamweight bout between Dav Mwale and Michael Decardi Nelson has been postponed to June 21, 2025
Reigning African Boxing Union (ABU) Bantamweight Champion, Davy Mwale says he remains focused after the much talked about World Boxing Council (WBC) International Championship bout against Ghana’s Michael Decardi Nelson was postponed to next month.
The WBC bout has officially been rescheduled from May 24 to June 21, 2025 at Government Complex in Lusaka.
Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) attributed the change to technical issues from sponsors and the WBC, but reassured stakeholders that preparations remain on track.
Mwale welcomed the postponement with confidence and optimism, noting that it gives him the opportunity to fine tune on his weaknesses. “I have been training for this fight since last year to become a world champion and the postponement will give us more.
The camp of Nelson was not much enthused with the postponement but hope to wait and fight a good bout.
Coach Elvis Robertson said the change in date will not affect them in any way because they have prepared both physically and mentally as well as have the morale to fight

Ghana Boxing Authority Presidential aspirant, Mr. Ivan Bruce Cudjoe aka IBC has held fruitful discussions with the Voice of Professional Boxers led by former boxer Michael Ayitey Okine aka ‘Powers’
The meeting came off on Saturday with many boxers showing interest in his plans and policies such as making boxing active in other regions aka spreading the game, involving and including retired boxers in major activities and programmes and monitoring and guiding potential world champions to realise their dream as well as give Ghanaians quality boxing entertainment..
Ivan Bruce Cudjoe who is CEO of Cabic Promotions said the future is very bright but there is the need for resetting to have a change in leadership of the administration.
According to Ivan he is going to make Ghana Boxing even attractive than it is now as a tourism spot and Accra as a preferred venue for international boxing.
The meeting was attended by senior and junior boxers and graced by former secretary of the GBA, Mr. Patrick Johnson, Mr. Jingles and the IBC Team.

Ghana Rugby Club Sevens Championship - Conquerors Rugby Club claimed 1st place
The 2025 Sevens Championship of Ghana Rugby saw regional champions battle for national glory. Conquerors Rugby Club claimed 1st place, with Oguaa Warriors and Accra Rugby Club finishing 2nd and 3rd.

The Ayawaso Cerebral Palsy Football Club, representing Team Ghana beat their Togolese counterparts 2-0 in an exciting international friendly match at the Olympic Stadium in Lome last Saturday .
The 28-member Ayawaso contingent, comprised 8 officials and 20 players, led by Emmanuel Akpabli, President of the Ayawaso CP Football Club and Technical Director of the Ghana CP Sports Federation.
The match attracted some good patronage at Lome's Olympic Stadium.
Captain Evans Somuah opened the scoring with a beautiful tap-in during the first half, giving Ghana a crucial lead.
In the second half, Ghana sealed the win with a well-executed corner kick, expertly headed home by Emmanuel Baidoo.
Ghana dominated Togo in all departments off the game.
According to Akpabli, the friendly match also serves as a qualifier for the 2026 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa.
Ghana’s impressive performance has boosted their confidence and chances of qualifying for the tournament.
Cerebral Palsy football is a version of football (soccer) adapted for athletes with Cerebral Palsy (CP), a group of permanent disorders that affect movement, muscle tone, and coordination.
The sport is governed by the International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football (IFCPF) and is played globally. Ghana is one of the few African countries that has adopted CP football.
According to Mr. Akpabli this is the team's first international match in history and they hope to build upon by engaging in other matches in Nigeria and later go far to South Africa, North Africa and possibly to Europe, Asia and elsewhere.
