Malaysia based Ghanaian kickboxer, Gerald Dah's weighing 70 kg lost to tall Malaysian Super-Am Pro Ammarul Shafiq of Malaysia over the weekend in a tough fight in Selangor.

Speaking to Yours Truly in a telephone conversation, Dah said he and his coach planned well, but their strategies could not work at the last minute and final stages of preparations.

He expressed that things do not go well always at the last minute for him, so he has to check his technical assistance and other related factor.

“In fact I am not happy for the loss, but it is sports and in sports, its either win, lose or draw so we will go back to training and the drawing board to prepare better for a better performance” he said.

Gerald Dah has been Ghana’s top Kick boxer on the international scene in Asia.

He is rated as the biggest Muay Thai Ambassador from Ghana in Malaysia, China and other Eastern nations.

Theophilus Nii Kpakpo Lopez Allotey also known as Theo Lopez has confirmed that he has really transformed after under going an intensive training experience in the British Cayman Islands.

He said the facilities and coaches were excellent and of world class standard.

In October, Allotey and his coach Dr. Ofor Asare. the national team technical director were invited by Palm Heights Athletics (PHA) to discover and train at the sports excellence center, which also serves as a holiday resort.

According to Allotey, who represented Ghana at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal, Thailand and Italy, he feels the transformation from amateur to professional and he has increased his weight, stamina, punch power and more wicked than ever.

"My fans say am too gentle in the ring. this time round they will see the wolf in me and the beast in me" he told Yours Truly in an exclusive interview on Omashi TV.

The young man from Sempe, born at Atukpai, educated at La Presby SHS says he discovered his talent in Boxing at age 7 and joined the Wisdom Boxing Club at age 10.

He expressed that Coach Dr. Ofori Asare has not only been a trainer, but a father and guardian.

His coach admitted that the best is about to come as Allotey is a potential world champion, who has transformed from good to better.

Mrs Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Senior Manager for Corporate Communications at MTN Ghana has advised Ghanaian youth to take training in digitalisation very seriously and not wait to be left in the dark.

In an exclusive interview with Omashi TV, she noted that the world is drifting to digital and the younger generation has a big role to play else they would be left jobless and frustrated.

She expressed that the world is changing and it is up to the youth to hold on and maintain or sustain important things like the environment.

Supporting MTN to propagate the benefits in sustainability, she pointed that young people who are 18 or 20 years old now have about 70 years more to live but if they watch the earth to deteriorate, what would their future look like.

She stressed that it is everyone's business to save the environment, noting that MTN Ghana is very responsible socially and also supports government and other agencies to ensure a safer, peaceful and brighter world to live in.

"It is time to take advantage of tools like AI and other technologies to make the world a better place" she stressed.

Coach Dr. Ofori Asare. Founder and CEO of the Wisdom Boxing Gym believes Haruna Mohammed will successfully retain his National Cruiserweight title against Jacob Dickson on November 23 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in the ‘Battle of the Beasts’.

Speaking on Omashi TV’s top boxing programme - ‘The Big Fight Night’ he commended former boxer Ayitey Powers for coming out with a promotional outfit to support boxers and offer them lucrative packages.

According to Dr. Asare who is Technical Director of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), Black Bombers, the initiative of Ayitey Powers is positive and in the right direction so he should be supported.

He noted that Haruna Mohammed aka ‘Thunder’ is going to shock fans by retaining the belt against Dickson on November 23 and called for respect and honor for national title holders as that is the best way to climb in the journey to boxing greatness.

“After the National title, we are go for West Africa, Africa, Commonwealth and the World, there is no need to rush because if you are good, the chances and opportunities will come, Haruna will win” he asserted.

Morocco's, Mochine El Kouraji silenced all the 63 cyclists that took part in the 2024 Tour du Faso to win the prestigious yellow jersey and the 35th edition of the West African cycling event.

The sensational  North African sprinter demonstrated strength and skill from stage one to the last day of the Tour to grab the enviable yellow jersey.

The Moroccan team was able to control the peloton in every stage of the competition.

Mohcine El Kouraji had a cumulative total time in the overall individual ranking of 27h28m 21s.

He retained the yellow shirt with a few seconds ahead of the 2nd and 3rd team, who were his teammates.

Malien Tiémoko Diamouténé won on Sunday in Ouagadougou, the 10th and final stage of the Tour du Faso Boussé - Ouagadaugou with criteria, 119,800km in 2h 49mins 02seconds, an average speed of 42,524 km/h.

History will remember that cyclist Tiemoko Diamouténé of the cycling club of Boukarila in the circle of Kignan as he is the first Malian cyclist to win a stage victory as he climbed the podium.

Morocco controlled the 35th Tour du Faso in Ouagadougou on November 3, 2024, grabbing the yellow shirt with Mohcine El Kouraji, and the other 2 places on the podium of the General Individual ranking, the general team ranking and 3 stage victories.

Best young cyclist also went to Moroccan, Driss EL Alouni.

The other 8 countries that took part in the competition were the Tour's left-outs, except for Russia, who pulled away with 4 stage victories - the green jersey by Anton Popov and the hot shirt by points (Mamyr Statsh).

Burkina Faso, winner of the 2023 edition, found itself with only one stage victory in 3rd place at the end of the 10th stage (Daouda Congo) and 5th place in the overall individual ranking (Bamassi Soulama)

Burkinabe Bamassi Soulama who is at 2mn08s and  Cameroonian Abossolo Clovis Kamzong at 2mn11s.

At the end of the last stage, the Cameroonian snatches 4th place in the Cycling Estalon and ends up at 2mins 42secs while Bamassi Soulama finishes at 3mn19s.

He was the only Burkinabe in the top 10 of the overall individual ranking.

  Ghana coach Otto Addo has settled on Leicester City star Jordan Ayew as captain for the final round of games in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The Black Stars will wrap up their qualifiers against already-qualified Angola and bottom-rock Niger next week.

Ghana will travel to face the Palancas Negras in Luanda on November 15 before playing host to Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024.

As earlier revealed by Ghanasoccernet.com, head coach Otto Addo has today, November 7 confirmed Jordan Ayew as his captain for the upcoming games in the absence of Andre Ayew and Thomas Partey.

During the October international break, Otto Addo opted for West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus as skipper for the double-header against Sudan, where Ghana fell short and derailed qualification chances.

Otto Addo came under massive pressure for his decision to overlook Jordan and name the West Ham attacker as the captain of the side.

Having ironed out any minor differences following recent meeting in Leicester, Otto Addo has settled on Ayew to lead the Black Stars in the upcoming games.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars are on the verge on missing out on the AFCON for the first time in 20-years following the teams’ unimpressive performance in the qualifying series.

Ghana has endured a torrid AFCON qualifications, losing two and drawing two games after four matches. They have managed only two points and are currently third on the standings heading into the final round of games this month.

The Black Stars now needs to secure wins against already-qualified Angola and Niger, while hoping that Sudan falters against these same opponents, to keep their chances alive for next year’s tournament in Morocco.

Ghana’s ace boxing referee, Mr. Roger Barnor is to conduct a referee/ judges course from 5^th to 8^th November.

The course is under the patronages of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) which is headed by Dr. Rafiu Oladipo.

The course will be held at the Brai Ayonote Boxing Complex, National Stadium. Surulere, Lagos.

Mr. Roger Barnor, second vice president of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) is excited to teach or train others, and he promises to deliver to Nigeria, whose game has seen some improvement at both amateur and professional ranks.
