Giants of Africa has returned to Ghana to support female coaches and the physically challenged. Giants of Africa uses basketball as a tool to empower African youth to DREAM BIG.
Giants of Basketball, an American Basketball organisation are in Ghana to organise a Women’s Basketball Coaches Clinic at the University of Ghana, Legon on Wednesday and unveil a basketball court at the School for the Deaf, Mampong Akuapem on 9th January.
Led by Joe Touomou (Senior Coach) and Coach Geraldine Robert, alongside members of Giant of Africa, GBA President Alex Kukula, selected coaches, and local representatives they are expected to impact a lot to the female basketball community in Ghana.
It is indeed a major boost for women’s basketball and inclusive sports development
Senior Coach Joe Touomou and Coach Geraldine Robert, a Gabonese who has played to the highest level in France and Europe shared some experiences and techniques on training and encouraging more females to do sports, especially play basketball.
According to Geraldine Robert the whole objective is using basketball to make the world a better place tolive in, and winning with women.
“When women win, the world wins said Coach Touomou.
He said Ghana has very good athletes in different sports disciplines and hoped there would be more stars in Ghana Basketball who can reach the NBA and FIBA levels.
