Former Commonwealth, Africa and Ghana National Featherweight Champion, Percy Oblitei Commey has called for the inclusion or appointment of former WBA Welterweight Champion Ike Bazooka Quartey in the management, administration and technical departments of Ghana Amateur Boxing.

In an exclusive chat at Omashi Media, Commey (34-7-1) said he believes his colleague, Ike Quartey is the right man who can lead the next generation of boxing stars to win medals at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

He noted that Ike Quartey and current coach of the Black Rockets. Charles Quartey can form a good pair to manage the technical aspect of Ghana Amateur Boxing.

According to Percy Commey who is also a coach, feels other coaches are ready to give Ike Quartey their blessings.

He revealed that at the time Azumah Nelson was world champion, he also held the Commonwealth title and sparred with the Professor very often.

"That time I was not given the opportunity, I could have also taken the WBA, WBO or IBF titles when Azumah was the WBC champion".

He noted that Ghana Boxing is always good because there are talents.

He said the problem facing boxers is management and discipline.
