The tournament started in 2015 in honor of Dr. Sam Jonah, a Santaclusian who is the chief patron.
Out of the seven occasions that the event has been held, the Santaclausians have had the bagging rights with four victories while the Botwe lads have won three.
In some particular years, the event could not come on due to circumstances beyond the control of organisers.

The Santaclusians will feature other players like President David Atuwo, Capt (rtd) Prince Kofi Amoabeng and Okoe Allotey.
Dr. Ernest Asimenu, the Captain of MOBA Golf replied they are coming with a tactical plan to win and be at par because they cannot be stretched. He noted that they are very ready to snatch the trophy.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mike Aggrey, a MOBA and former President of Ghana Golf Association (GGA) who will also play alongside Martin Osei and President Eddie Nustugah expressed that the Cup will certainly change hands.
"MOBA is determined to achieve the tie breaker in order to retain the bragging rights which we famously attained in the first and second encounters" Mr. Aggrey revealed.
The tournament tees of at 8am.
