PGA Ghana has commenced the year 2025 with a new objective. The executives have appointed a very steward golf personality in the person of Hans De Beer as their president.
The appointment is based on the backdrop of the support and good work that Hans De Beer has demonstrated toward the association and the golfing fraternity for more than a decade. In his first meeting as president of PGA Ghana on 25th February 2025, he together with the executives unanimously settled on UK based golfer Alhaji Ahmed Padori as vice-president of the association.
He urged the entire PGA body in the country to gladly come on board and work toward the upliftment of professional golf in Ghana.
Hans De Beer has also put down the following key indicators to help him succeed in his quest to improve the growth and sustainability of the association. He has tasked Alhaji Ahmed Padori to form some various committees to strengthen the aims and objectives during his tenure as the president of their noble association and as the benchmark to follow.
The team is to look for potential sponsors to contribute to the sustainability of the four (4) flagship tournaments that have been organized for the last five years.
The president has also reiterated that Genser PGA Championship 2025 hopefully will be played at the Royal Golf club Kumasi to support HRM the King Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll vision for golf in the country.
The president also alluded that the total purse for this year is expected to be bigger than the last year to attract large contingents of foreign professional golfers not only from the sub-sahara countries but Africa as a whole.
Hans De Beer appealed with all individuals, business entrepreneurs, companies and multi- national companies to fulfil their community social responsibilities by supporting professional golf through sponsorships.
He also took this opportunity to extend his appreciation and gratitude to the entire members of PGA Ghana to give him and his vice-president the opportunity to serve them.
