Ghana's Frema Agyfi who is based in the United Kingdom performed very well at the recent African Junior Judo Championship in Algeria, dubbed Algiers 2025.
She competed in the 57kg category and won the bronze medal to announce Ghana’s presence at the Algiers 2025 Junior African Cup.
According to Elkanah Dodoo, a popular Judo Coach, the event is an Olympics qualifier and she must be commended and supported by government and corporate bodies.
"Ghana has talent and all we need is funds to organise and compete at the international level to qualify for World and Olympic tournaments" he expressed.
Frema's parents were responsible for her registration and travel fares. She also feels government and the private sector must support sports, especially the least financed like judo.
She was handled by Coach Edward Stewart Greenhill who is also based in London at the Championship.
