Young boxing coach Joseph Martey of Seconds Out Boxing Gym who won the Best Coach of the year 2025 award at the Boxing Ghana event on January 3 at Idrowhyt Events  said the nomination and recognition alone will motivate him to reach for higher laurels and achievements.

He thanked the organisers and voters who contributed to the wonderful and successful programme.

Martey who led three boxers to the African Youth Championship in Guinea last year came home with three gold medals and a trophy.

He was also assistant to Charles Quartey at the African Youth Games in Angola where the young Black Rockets won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in boxing for Ghana.

Coach Martey said the event was fantastic and he had a good time.

He gave respect and credit to coaches at Seconds Out Gym for their encouragement and support, like Coach Darko and Coach Daniel plus Peter Zwennes as well as others from the other gyms like Dr. Asare of Wisdom Gym, Ebenezer Adjei aka Killer of Black Panthers Gym, .Augustus Dodoo aka One Life of Bukom Gym and Akai Nettey of Attoh Quarshie.
