Dauda Fuseni Beats Bernard Quartey With Huge Margin At GBF Elections To Become New President

 

Alhaji Dauda Fuseni has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) at a peaceful but exciting elections held at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday December 27. 2025.

He polled 85 votes to beat incumbent Bernard Quartey of Ghana Immigration Service who got 25 votes.

Nii Gonti Adjor 1 aka Nii Adama Addy was elected unopposed as the new First Vice President, while Solomon Otoo Lartey maintain his position as Second Vice President beat Naa Okailey.

Mustapha Nettey also retained his position as Treasurer with same large margin against his opponent.

Ms. Sarah Lotus Asare and George Lamptey got the nods to be elected as new executives board members.

They were immediately sworn into office by the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Richard Akpokavie Esq who advised the new leadership to unite the amateur boxing front and work hard to get good boxers to represent Ghana at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in Senegal and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

He was accompanied by the Secretary General of the GOC, Mohammed Muniru, Nana Mankatah, Bawa Fuseini and Kamal Sulley all GOC Board members.

They congratulated the new GBF executives and welcomed them into office.

Alhaji Dauda Fuseni promised to work hard with all stakeholders to be accountable, transparent and fair in decisions taking.

Dauda who was the former Vice President noted that they have learnt a lot and hoped not to commit the mistakes of the former President.

He was carried shoulder high after the elections and paraded through some streets of Ga Mashie where boxing is a big venture of the people.

The new executives and supporters ended at The Gym where they poured champagne, fireworks and had refreshments.

The election was conducted and supervised by the Ghana Olympic Committee and Electoral Commission of Ghana.
