Mr. Henry Harry Owoo has hailed the reforms in Ghana Boxing if that would make the game better and enable the country to produce more world champions.

Speaking to Yours Truly on Omashi TV mega show, The Big Fight Night, he commended the Ministry of Sports & Recreations and National Sports Authority (NSA) for ensuring sanity and saving precious lives in sports.

He also commended the leadership of the media outfit for their vision in entering the media space to promote the Ga language and supporting entertainment, culture and sports, especially boxing.

He said the new media has become very important, powerful and a great source of fast news and information.

He hailed young bloggers such as Chorkor Jamaica TV, Jamestown TV and others who share vital information in communities.

According to Mr. Owoo who is affectionately called Cartel or Nii Mogash, he loves sports a lot as he is a sportsman who plays football and watches boxing a lot. He played a key role when the boxing team from France visited Ghana recently.

He named Ike Bazooka Quartey as his favourite boxer and Ishmael Addo, former Hearts of Oak striker who won the Ghana Goal King three times as the footballer he admires most.

Speaking about himself, the Derby Avenue JHS and Apam SHS old student revealed that he has no political ambitions despite the massive crowd that shows up at the annual Cartel Charity Health Walk which he champions. This year's Walk has been fixed for December 5 and he urged everyone to join and support creating awareness of fitness and healthy living.

He noted that as a fan of Accra Hearts of Oak, he will not reject the chairman position if he has the opportunity to serve his favourite club.

He advised people of Ghana to take their health seriously by engaging in body exercises.

Mr. Owoo said this year's Cartel Walk will be massive and special because other activities will be available to enhance the event such as health screening, aerobics and fanfare. The Walk stars from the Mamprobi Post Office and ends at the Stephen Appiah Astro Turf aka Mamprobi Girls School.

"My main advice for everyone to live in a clean environment because cleanliness is next to godliness and we should try to keep our environment clean, let’s just be health conscious" he expressed.

He was not enthused when a ban was placed on Ghana Boxing because that is the profession of many people but embraces the medical reforms and recommends more competitive bouts.

“I know Bahubali very well and was sad to hear the sad news, so I will definitely support reforms and recommendations to make Ghana Boxing better” he expressed.
