Ghanaian sprint star Abdul-Rasheed Saminu is the one everyone is looking at to cause a surprise at the up coming World Championship in Japan.
Saminu who shattered the national 100m record twice clocking 9.86s in May before lowering it to a stunning 9.84s in July is among the world’s big names in the 100m dash event.
He has officially qualified for the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan in both the 100m and the 4×100m relay, now in Texas with Ghana’s relay squad, Saminu is fine tuning his speed and baton chemistry ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
With his blistering form and Ghana’s 4×100m team already qualified, all eyes are on him to deliver history.
The World Athletics Championships will be held from 13-21 September, 2025 in the National Stadium, the venue for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
