Mindsports Ghana, led by Tournament Director Christiana Ashley known as ‘Mama Chess’ and Chief Arbiter Clinton Fomevor have organized an unforgettable World Chess Day celebration at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The event brought together players of all ages and skill levels, showcasing generational unity and chess excellence. Congratulations to:
- FM Kojo Hasford (Landlord) for winning the rapid section on tiebreaks
- Philip Ameku and Akpa Prince for their impressive performances in the rapid section
- Philip Ameku for blitzing his way to victory in the blitz section
- CM Clinton Fomevor and FM Kojo Hasford for their strong showings in the blitz section
- Siddarth Gupta for his perfect score (7/7) in the junior section
- Raja Sachiin for securing 5.5 points and second place in the junior section
- Othneal Weniah for his impressive performance
Special mention to the Blind Chess Academy for their presence. It was indeed a festival of chess culture.
