12 boxers made up of seven males and five females of the national boxing teams, the Black Bombers and Black Hitters have been selected to represent Ghana at the African Olympic Qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal.
The males are Theophilus Allotey (Flyweight), Abdul Wahid Omar (Featherweight), Joseph Commey (LightWelterweight), Alfred Kotey (Light Middleweight), Seth Gyimah (Light Heavyweight), Jonathan Tetteh Heavyweight and David Bawa (Super Heavyweight)
The five females who will star for Ghana in Senegal are Janet Acquah (Flyweight), Ramatu Quaye (Dantamweight), Anatu Mohammed (Featherweight), Sarah Apew (Lightweight) and US based Ornella Sathoud (Middleweight).
The selection was specially made to fix all the experienced and youthful boxers who are showing promise of delivery.
The will be handled by head coach Dr. Ofori Asare assisted by Vincent Akai Nettey, Elvis Robertson and Latequaye Lartey.

Some rising stars who were dropped have been advised by the Ghana Boxing Federation President to keep what they have learnt at the training as they are the future stars. They include the first son of Bukom Banko, a classic hard puncher.
The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah and Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif have wished them success and victory as well as qualification to Paris 2024.
The Qualifying Tournament is from September 9 to 15, 2023.
