He thanked the sports media body for their support for the lesser known and least financed sports. He was however not content with some categories of the awards, and advised the sports media body to monitor and scrutinize the awardees.

According to the GOC president many sportsmen and women in Ghana respect and cherish the awards..

He commended the SWAG for not breaking the chain and continue to honour sportsmen and women for the past 45 years.
