He will be honoured by the Ghana Caribean Association (GCA) as an Honoury member at an Awards Ceremony.
There would be performance by the Akuma Dance Ensemble. The event is strictly by invitation.
Since his historic visit to the motherland the iconic world top sprinter has visited a number of exciting places and meet some dignitaries like the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif, board members of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Dr. Ishmael Yamson, football star Asamoah Gyan, Olympic Bronze medalist Samuel Takyi as well as watching kids of the Achimota Basic School engage in some games.
He has also presented Indomie and Verna Mineral Water to some sportsmen and women on his working visit to the Accra Sports Stadium where he met the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
Asafa Powell is the first Jamaican to break the world record in the 100 metres and has completed the 100 metres in under ten seconds more times than anyone. His world record was broken by his colleague Usain Bolt.

Jamaican top Sprinter, Asafa Powell and wife Alyshia led by the President of Ghana Olympic Committee, Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah on Thursday paid an amazing courtesy call on the Director General of National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter O. Twumasi .
The famous record-breaking sprinter is in Ghana to inspire Ghanaian youth to venture into athletics as well as advocating for decentralization of running tracks in all communities to nurture talents to engage the world.
Prof Twumasi on behalf of the NSA presented Ghana-made tracksuits to him and his wife.

Tennis Players Happy To Be Inspired By Asafa Powell
Asafa Powell, the iconic world top sprinter has met some Ghanaian Tennis and Table Tennis players at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.
He shared ideas and experience with them and later presented Indomie and Verna Mineral Water to them.
The players and their coaches said they were surprised about the visit because they never expected him, and they were very proud for his inspirational words that would encourage them to keep on doing sports to the highest level.
Naa Ayorkor of the Ghana Army who plays Badminton, Table Tennis and Tennis said she was highly motivated and commended the Ghana Olympic Committee President, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah for his love for the youth in sports.
Coach of the Ghana Tennis team also thanked the media officer, Yours Truly of the GOC and Mr. Bawa Fuseini for adding them to the historic visit of the world athletics super star.
Some Ghanaian athletes, weightlifters and Table Tennis players who were training at the Accra Sports Stadium also had the opportunity to take pictures with Asafa Powell and his wife.

Jamaican Asafa Powell held the men’s 100m world record before Usain Bolt.
Powell held a 40th birthday and retirement party. Bolt filmed a video to wish his countryman well upon retirement.
Powell last raced in May 2021, according to World Athletics, and did not compete at Jamaica’s Olympic Trials.
He raced at the Olympics in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016, earning 4x100m relay gold in Rio. His best individual finish was fifth in the 100m in 2004 and 2008.
Powell owns the record of 97 career sub-10-second 100m performances, the last coming on Sept. 1, 2016.
Powell lowered the 100m world record to 9.77 seconds on June 14, 2005. He held the mark until Bolt broke it on May 31, 2008, for the first of three times. He is the fastest man in history without an Olympic or world 100m title.
In 2004, Powell had the fastest semifinal time at the Athens Games, then placed fifth in the final won by Justin Gatlin.
In 2008, after injuries early in the year, Powell had the second-fastest semifinal time in Beijing. He placed fifth in the Olympic final again.
In 2012, Powell pulled up in the 100m final and was the last finisher. In 2016, he made the Jamaican Olympic team strictly for the relay.
Powell is the fourth-fastest man in history with a personal best of 9.72 seconds, trailing contemporaries Bolt (9.58), Tyson Gay (9.69) and Yohan Blake (9.69).
Bolt retired in 2017. Gay, also 40, last raced in May 2021. Blake, 32, ran 9.85 in June, his best time since 2012, when he took Olympic 100m and 200m silver behind Bolt.

He shared ideas and experience with them and later presented Indomie and Verna Mineral Water to them.
The former world 100 meters record holder and Jamaican champion was also at the office of the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi who was very happy with the visit and presented to him a Ghanaian Track Suit.
Professor Twumasi said the visit was very important as it would motivate many athletes to put up their best when Ghana hosts the 13th African Games.
He also said the government is putting up many sports facilities to help the youth to engage in sports.
Asafa Powell who was accompanied by his Ghanaian born wife, Alyshia and the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah also visited the Achimota Basic School to interact with pupils as well as the Achimota Golf Club.
At the Achimota Basic School, t was fun galore with the kids.
The GOC President Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah thanked Indomie and Twellium Industrial Company, producers of Verna Mineral Water for supporting the visit of world Athletics Icon.

Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Bronze Medalist Samuel Takyi Aka ‘The Ring Warrior’ has met Asafa Powell who set the 100-meter world record twice between June 2005 and May 2008, with times of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds.
He told Yours Truly, to meet the once fastest man in the world in very inspiring and motivating.
"Asafa Powell is my role model because he came from a modest background and become a world hero, I also come from a background that you can't talk about, but when I went to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, I was chosen by the IOC President to represent the athletes from Africa and I will never forget that moment standing by the Japanese Prime Minister and the President of the International Olympic Committee. I am very grateful to General One, the Press Attache and the GOC President, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah" he expressed.
Samuel Takyi has since turned professional after winning the first Olympic Bronze for Ghana in nearly 30 years. He has promised to win a world boxing title belt.

The leadership of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) has presented tennis equipment to some regional associations and tennis academies to support talent development in Schools.
The gesture was aimed at promoting the "Tennis in Schools Project", which is one of the visions of the federation.
The items included thousands of tennis balls, rackets and kits.
The recipients were Winneba Tennis Center, Korlebu Tennis Training Center, National Tennis Center (Stadium), PM Sports/Central Region, Tina Tagoe Academy and St. Francis Academy.
The rest were Asamu J Tennis & Fitness Center, Victoria Dowuna Academy, Northern Regional Tennis Association, Upper East Regional Tennis Association and Upper West Regional Tennis Association.
Presenting the items, Mr. Jesse Ato Desbordes, a board member of the GTF, noted that "The Tennis in Schools Project" will offer the players opportunity to compete in the various national teams as a well as the ITF competitions organised by the partners of the federation such as the Tennis Foundation Ghana.
He said the GTF will continue to support its member associations from time to time to ensure the development of the sport in the regions and the country at large.

Jamaican sprint legend, Asafa Powell, has asserted that athletics in his country is a highly rated sporting event just as football is in Ghana.
Asafa Powell arrived in Ghana for a 10-day visit on the invitation of the Ghana Olympic Committee as part of strengthening Ghana-Jamaica relations.
He will also be involved in many charity and social engagements, as confirmed by the President of the GOC, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the host of Happy FM’s Happy Sports, Ohene Bampoe Brenya, the Jamaican international sports icon stated that athletics has given Jamaican athletes worldwide recognition.
“Jamaican athletes can’t go anywhere unnoticed; it has given us worldwide recognition. Athletics is the number one sport in Jamaica. “People troop in to meet up with our Olympians, and it is our football,” he said.
“Athletics is like marriage; training, workouts, everything is tough, and it is a big responsibility. Once you get into it, you have to be ready for training, competition, criticism, and sacrifices,” he added.

The Head Mistress of the school, Edith Naa Dedei Kyeremateng has expressed her gratitude to the Ghana Olympic Committee and Ghana Athletics for putting the spotlight on the the school during the historic visit of world Athletics Super Star, Asafa Powell on his memorable visit to Ghana.
She said the top Jamaican athlete and his Ghanaian wife has really inspired her kids, and certainly most of them are going to be stars in the future
She noted that the visit will have positive impart on the future of the children.
The children were led by their PE tutors and officials of Ghana Athletics to engage in different sports activities.
Sports talent, Leticia Amoah of class 5 Blue was discovered at the exciting sports activities. She had the privilege to take a historic and memorable picture with world Super Star Asafa Powell.
The outstanding pupils were rewarded with products of Twellium Industrial Company and Indomie.
Present at the event was Mr. Wilson Affum of the Okaikoi North Municipal., Emmanuel Kwame Asare, President of the Ghana Cricket Association, Mr. Owusu Nyantekye and veteran popular sports journalist Mr. Karl Tuffour.
Asafa Powell said he was glad to see the kids to give them the motivation they need to become great people in future.
He expressed that they should not look at anybody but focus on whatever they want to do in future and be determined to make it to the top, as he also came from an ordinary home with humble begining.
He urged Africans to work hard to develop, because the future is Africa as most people want to come to Africa.

Jamaican sprint legend, Asafa Powell, has disclosed how the deaths of his two brothers on the eve of a national championship competition motivated him to punch above his weight.
According to the former global sprint record holder, he almost called it quits when the news of the death of his two brothers reached him.
Asafa Powel, who set the 100-meter world record twice between June 2005 and May 2008, with times of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds arrived in Ghana for a 10-day visit on the invitation of the Ghana Olympic Committee.
Speaking in an Exclusive interview with the Host of Happy FM’s Happy Sports, Ohene Bampoe Brenya, Asafa Powell shared his experience on how he reacted on hearing about the death of his two brothers on the eve of a National Championship competition.
“When I lost both of my brothers, running track and field was still new to me. It was my second year running track and field and coming out on the scene.
“The news of their death reached me when I was at the National Championships and I told my coaches and parents that was not going to compete again” he revealed.
“They were my biggest fans and their death hit me. My elder brother, who was also my mentor and role model called to tell me I should make my brothers proud and that was where I was highly motivated” He added.
