Mohammed Kudus clinched the Man of the Match Award for his standout performance against Manchester United as West Ham United secured a 2-0 victory at the London Stadium on Saturday.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian star sealed the win with a decisive second goal, capping off an essential triumph for David Moyes’ side. Despite a goalless first half, West Ham emerged victorious against Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils.
In the 72nd minute, Lucas Paqueta’s precise pass to Jarrod Bowen set the stage for West Ham’s breakthrough, with Bowen successfully beating Andre Onana. Kudus, who has now scored in his last three home games, capitalized on Kobbie Mainoo’s defensive lapse, driving a clinical shot into the bottom corner to secure a 2-0 lead.
In his inaugural Premier League season, Kudus has showcased his prowess with an impressive tally of six goals, making a significant contribution to West Ham’s success. Since his arrival in August, the Ghanaian midfielder’s overall goal count stands at an impressive 10 across all competitions.
This victory propels West Ham into sixth place in the table, leapfrogging ahead of their opponents, as Manchester United slips to eighth place.

Yaël Arad, head of the Israeli Olympic Committee: "We will be 100% in Paris" for the Games. GETTY IMAGES
The president of the Israeli Olympic Committee, Yaël Arad, assured on Thursday that Israel would be present "100 per cent" at the Paris Olympics in 2024, just over two months after the outbreak of the conflict with Hamas.
"We are approaching the Olympics with the conviction that we will be there, 100 per cent, and that we will be able to participate like any other nation," the former judoka said in an interview with French sports daily L'Équipe.
The unprecedented 7 October attack by the Islamist Hamas movement killed 1,140 people in Israel, most of them civilians, according to a tally by AFP based on the latest official Israeli figures.
Israel responded with air strikes on Gaza, followed by a ground offensive. Israeli military operations have killed 20,000 people in Gaza since the war began, including at least 8,000 children and 6,200 women, the Hamas government said on Wednesday.

"We are still in shock about October 7. It's hard to go to sleep and wake up, everyone has lost someone close to them," said Yaël Arad.
In his opinion, "it's hard for athletes to imagine practising [their discipline] in such circumstances, to do anything other than help their compatriots".
But the Israeli Olympic Committee has asked them to "leave the nation's flag high at the Olympic Games".

Arad, the -61kg Olympic runner-up in judo at Barcelona 1992, admitted that "in many countries today it is not safe [for Israeli athletes] to travel as a delegation", especially in reference to February's World Swimming Championships in Doha, a qualifier for Paris 2024.
"We are talking with Qatar and the IOC [International Olympic Committee] to study the alternatives... We are working on it," she said.
Asked about fears of an attack like the 1972 Munich Olympics - 12 Israeli athletes and a German policeman were killed by the Palestinian commando group "Black September" - Yaël Arad said that "our Olympic family has to live with that".
"Since Munich in 1972, our athletes have always received special attention," he said. "You can be sure that, from our side, everything will be done to ensure our security," he promised.

As the festive season approaches, the celebration of cultural events, long hours of church events into the night, and vibrant traditions take center stage. However, amid the joyous atmosphere, ensuring security becomes paramount to guarantee the safety and well-being of both locals and tourists.
The Ghanaian government has consistently recognized the importance of security during such occasions and has implemented various measures to enhance public safety. One key element contributing to this effort is the increased visibility of the police force throughout the major cities in the country.
The heightened police visibility plays a crucial role in deterring criminal activities and creating a secure environment. Officers patrolling popular festive destinations and crowded areas act as a visible deterrent, ‘scaring’ potential wrongdoers. This proactive approach not only ensures a swift response to any incidents but also fosters a sense of security among the public. Tourists, in particular, benefit from knowing that law enforcement is actively present, contributing to an overall positive experience during their visit to Ghana.
Tourist confidence is inherently linked to the perception of safety, and the visible presence of police significantly boosts this confidence. Travelers are more likely to explore and immerse themselves in local festivities when they feel secure. The positive impact on tourism extends beyond immediate economic benefits, as satisfied visitors become ambassadors, sharing their positive experiences and encouraging others to choose Ghana as the preferred holiday destination. Ghana government saves in advertisement costs. In essence, a secure festive season contributes to the growth of the tourism industry, a vital sector for the country's economy.
Additionally, the collaboration between law enforcement and local communities plays a pivotal role in maintaining security. Community engagement programs organized by the police foster a sense of shared responsibility. When residents actively participate in ensuring safety, it not only strengthens the social fabric but also creates a united front against potential security threats. This collaborative approach enhances the effectiveness of security measures and creates a lasting positive impact on the overall well-being of society.
As Ghana gears up for the festive season, the focus on security, particularly through increased police visibility, stands as a testament to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone in the country. The link between security measures, police visibility, and tourist confidence creates a harmonious atmosphere that not only safeguards the public but also contributes to the growth of the tourism sector. By prioritizing security during festivities, Ghana sets a standard for responsible tourism, showcasing the nation's rich cultural heritage while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for all.
In addition to the government's efforts, the public must observe certain safety precautions during the festive season. Individuals are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police promptly. In crowded areas and popular festive destinations, it is recommended to be cautious of personal belongings to prevent theft. Following designated pathways and adhering to event guidelines will help maintain order and minimize potential risks. Furthermore, attendees are encouraged to stay informed about emergency exits and evacuation procedures in case of unforeseen events. By collectively practicing these safety measures, the public can actively contribute to creating a secure and enjoyable atmosphere during the festive celebrations in the country.
